IIIT Tiruchirappali
FOUNDATION
The Indian Institute of Information Technology, Tiruchirappalli (Trichy), Tamil Nadu is one of the new IIITs proposed by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. IIIT Trichy was established in 2013 in Postgraduate Programmes in CS and EC under the mentorship of Anna University (BIT campus), Tiruchirappalli.The Institute partially terminated it's PG programmes and started it's Undergraduate Programmes in 2015 under the mentorship of NIT Tiruchirappalli. IIIT Trichy has started its first batch in UG program the academic year 2015-16 with a strength of 72 students in the department of Computer Science , Electronics and Communications.
STUDENT LIFE
IIIT Trichy's curriculum for all the programs have been framed after extensive deliberations and discussions with IITs, NITs, IIITs, and Anna University and other reputed Institute faculty members and Industry stake holders. The students may undergo internship from research labs CSIO - CSIR, CECRI – CSIR, IGCAR, and industries such as Navitas (TAKE Solutions), Compegence, Sanspareil, Infomak, Zod, etc. The students and faculty are encouraged to publish research papers in International Journals, International Conferences, and National Conferences.
